Why I Don’t Do Yearly Ranking Lists For Movies, Part 1

For nearly two years, I’ve seen a lot of YouTube videos for both best movie lists and worst movie lists in a particular year, with multiple YouTube videos about 2023 movies being a prime example of that. And of course, with that being said, I like to watch those types of videos to see what the vloggers have to say about movies, such as “Five Nights At Freddy’s” and “Scream VI”.

Alright, so for those of you who have been keeping up with the Art Infliction Movement, it’s been commonplace for me to blog about movies to the point that I’ve been asked a time or two, “Why haven’t you made a best movies list or worst movies list of a specific year?”.

Well, in cases such as 2023, I haven’t evaluated one single movie from that calendar year (or any other year for that matter) to warrant a Top 10 list, especially when I don’t know what spots three through ten will be for something, such as my top 10 2023 movies. And although I have a good idea about what number two could be for that year, even that ranking isn’t completely pre-determined right now. Plus, given my methodical selection process of both what does make and what doesn’t make The Flickuum Project, I can’t make a best movies list nor a worst movies list of any given year any time soon. I guess you’ll have to wait until the next decade to find out about one of them at least.

Blog to you all again tomorrow.
