Extra Sessions

Here at Art Infliction, we are very structured with things, such as Kaycee And The Forefront and Steve Believes.

However, there will be weeks where Steve Kaycee won’t make the Monday deadline for the former of those two pages, along with the fact that he could have more than one sports entry during a particular week.

But what if Steve could make up for a missed deadline? And what if he had a page to run in tandem with Steve Believes?

Well, the answers are here on this page, as we house both belated assignments and impromptu assignments.

Or in this case, Steve squeezing in a Kaycee And The Forefront entry into this page whenever the aforementioned Kaycee And The Forefront page, along with both The Bonus Round page and Miscellaneous page, are all booked solid.

So now you are most likely wondering, “What is Steve tackling this time?”

Well, he is blogging about what the arbitrary temporary alternate Art Infliction logo has inspired him to do.

You can check it out via the entry below!

“Flickasbord, Volume 194”

I was going to take an indefinite blogging break, starting yesterday, to finally focus on resuming The Flickuum Project. But given how time-consuming that the selection process for the 1,665th fully guaranteed Flickuum spot will be during the wee hours of this coming Wednesday, I’ve decided to A] Write this entry now as a way to completely restructure the beginning of Week 382, and B] Move “Albatross” to Thursday night, so that I can run off a good string of Flickuum completions from then through the wee hours of next Monday, with that amount being 10. But unlike recent Flickasbord entries, this one won’t be as heavy in content.

Let’s begin.

First up, not too long before I was gearing up for my eventual theatrical assessment of “M3GAN”, the Christian Bale-led movie “The Pale Blue Eye” was trending on Netflix at that time to the point that my two roommates watched it. Of course, I came down in between my evaluations of “Free Willy” and “My Little Pony: The Movie” that night (first Saturday of 2023) to get something to drink, as that particular stretch of The Project was going to be a very busy one. But that didn’t stop me from noticing a bit of that Christian Bale-led movie and given that “M3GAN 2.0” could very likely be my final evaluation of 2025, I’ve added that movie to the roster for an assessment, which will occur three or four days before that likely evaluation in December. Yeah, I like to replicate certain memories and that time in early-2023 was very nostalgic for me. 🙂

Next up, I like both those southwestern desert locales and hilly locales, whether they’re in an A24 movie, one of those 1960s/1970s buddy drifter movies or one of those 1960s/1970s crime dramas. Of course, I don’t know the exact setting for “Poor Boy”, but that movie’s locales conjure up the locales that I was just alluding to and it’s grimy like “Love Lies Bleeding”. Plus, the 2016 movie features Amanda Crew, thus I have pardoned it for a second re-assessment.

Today is an arbitrary temporary logo change-up day, as today feels like a day to deploy the growling Norwich Terrier logo, which I purchased as a royalty-free image from Abode Stock a little over three years ago. And while that image does look ferocious, I have also jokingly thought to myself that if I were to ever bankroll a Little League Baseball team, well then I would have that aforementioned image be the team’s logo, followed by having the team name be the Norwich Terriers. And since I have jokingly thought that to myself as recently as this morning, I came to the realization that I never saw either version of “The Bad News Bears” since that aforementioned image also looks like a growling bear. So yeah, changing the logo just for today (at least), and thinking about that joke have planted the seeds of assessing both versions into my mind, thus they will be added to the assessment/re-assessment roster. Play ball!

Re-assessing “Annihilation”, which is still pending completion, I noticed a lot of flashback scenes within its first 56 minutes and I’m honestly not annoyed by that component at all. And unlike late-November 2023, I’m enjoying the Alex Garland-directed movie up to this point, but I’ll see how the last 59 minutes play out. Anyways, for some reason, the flashback scenes of the movie “London” came to mind and given that I could see it in a whole new way 17 years after its full-on assessment, I have decided to grant that movie a pardon, along with “Brothers” for having a vibe similar to the Nicolas Cage movie “Pig”, as well. Alright, no more pardons and I totally mean it this time.

And finally, speaking of A24, another one of their movies that kept falling through the cracks for me was “The Bling Ring”, which actually looks like one of their lighter in tone type movies. Of course, I have no idea how I kept overlooking that movie. But given that I needed a minimum of three items before the creation of this entry, I decided to mention that movie since I want to see Emma Watson in yet another non-Harry Potter movie. So, with that being said, the 2013 movie becomes the latest from the A24 catalog to join the very-loaded assessment/re-assessment roster.

Well, the “pre-Dream Scenario” spots keep dwindling and there’s a major lag in amassing more Tier 5-ready movies. But given what I have planned for myself between the conclusion of today’s social media postings and Thursday night, I have a feeling that the amount of overall guaranteed Flickuum spots will go slightly north of that current amount, which is 2,518.

Until the next time.
