My current stretch of time off from The Flickuum Project has produced uneven results in the assessment/re-assessment department, as it appears that “The Bikeriders” is the only one of the five from Wednesday to now that is 100% successful. But of course, the operative word here is “appears”, as there’s an outside chance that “Snowmen” could benefit from the “grow on” effect. Stay tuned.
Movies that were once deemed as filler/afterthoughts have had their pre-assessment stocks rise all of a sudden, due to “Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings” giving off a very relaxing vibe. And of course, with all of that being said, the movie that could benefit the most is “Shortcomings”, which is another Asian-themed movie that gives off a similar vibe. Plus, the presence of Sherry Cola does help the latter of the two movies, as her “Joy Ride” castmate Stephanie Hsu appeared in the former of the two movies, thus that uniquely common thread is another thing that could benefit Randall Park’s directorial debut.
The push for getting one more Minka Kelly movie to compete March Madness style is another step closer to becoming a reality, as “Blackwater Lane” is now available to rent via both Amazon and Apple. And given the intriguing thought of one of her movies competing March Madness style against movies that have Nadine Velazquez, Melissa Barrera and Tiffani-Amber Thiessen, the expectations for her newest movie are very high. Now let’s see if that movie makes it a lucky 13 for her in The Flickuum Project.
In another item pertaining to “Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings”, I came to the realization that the other 2021 MCU movie “Eternals” could very well be neck-and-neck with the movie that became the 1,096th Flickuum evaluation, as the aesthetics of both movies are similar to each other. Furthermore, there is no way that I’m denying a movie that has the trio of Gemma Chan, Angelina Jolie and Salma Hayek from The Project, thus the latter 2021 MCU movie will join “The Bikeriders” in the 2,101 through 2,301 selection protocol.
Throughout the methodical building process of The Flickuum Project, I’ve always been on the lookout for movies that feature actresses leaving me wanting more. And trust me, it’s a very long list of actresses. And now you can add Alexa PenaVega to that list, as her beauty is in top form via “From Prada To Nada”. And of course, with that being said, I found two movies of hers that came chronologically after that one in “Wicked Blood” and “Spare Parts”, as I liked what I saw in both of those trailers. And should those two movies pass assessment, then they will increase her Flickuum movie total to seven.
In an item pertaining to another “Blackwater Lane” cast member, another movie that I let slip through the cracks is “The Scent Of Rain & Lightening” and I let it slip through the cracks for an unknown reason. But thanks to that other cast member (Maggie Grace), the latter of the two movies is back in my memory bank, thus it will be added to the roster of assessments/re-assessments.
In another item pertaining to Alexa PenaVega, I was tempted to add “Roommate Wanted” to the roster of assessments/re-assessments. But after reading that both her character and Spencer Grammar character are equally dislikable in that movie, I decided to add that movie to the Movies That Mega Tat Refuses To See page.
And finally, Blake Lively joined the double-digits club in The Flickuum Project via me just finding out that she did the voice of The Octopuss in the movie “IF”, so now I have to look for that character when I eventually evaluate that movie. But of course, this paragraph isn’t about that movie, as it’s about a movie that I saw the trailer of when I went to go see “The Bikeriders”. And as what to that movie is, well it’s the movie “It Ends With Us”, which gives off vibes that are similar to the 761st Flickuum evaluation, The Lucky One. And if Blake Lively’s second 2024 movie can live up to that lofty expectation, then she’ll extend her Flickuum amount to 11.
Well, the 2,101 through 2,301 selection protocol has made some progress in amassing Flickuum worthy movies, but not enough to end the moratorium of movies awaiting advancement to Tier 5. And given what I have foreseeably accessible to me, I’ll be lucky to get a fifth of successful assessments/re-assessments between now and the night of this coming Wednesday.
Until the next time.
