If last week was bizarre, then this week is the week of self-inflicted information overload, as the assessment/re-assessment roster continues to be ever-growing, along with me noticing the dual oversight of not having 54 A24 movies on both the Pre-Final 95 page, and in two tiers (8 and 9) of the Land Of Infusion page. However, that dual oversight has since been corrected. Oh yes, and a movie that became an overall guaranteed Flickuum movie in August 2024 has become fully rescinded from The Project.
Let’s begin.
First up, theatrical outings almost always bring forth new trailers, as I noticed two new/upcoming movies when I went to go theatrically assess “The Dog Stars” yesterday. And as to what those two movies were/are, well they were/are “The Social Reckoning”, because wow, Mikey Madison totally resembles a young Mia Sara in that trailer, while the other one was/is “Whalefall”, the latter of which is a harrowing man vs. nature aquatic type movie that also has the potential to outrank “The Shallows” a.k.a. evaluation 732. Oh, and since “The Social Reckoning” has been added to the roster, I’ve decided to add “The Social Network” to the roster as well, especially since I feel like I have to see the 2010 movie before the Mikey Madison-Jeremy Allen White collaboration. Yes, the savagery of the assessment/re-assessment roster continues and those three movies are just the latest tip of this ever-growing iceberg.
I need to blog about another new roster addition since the item one paragraph from now doesn’t technically count for the minimum three-item self-requirement. And just as I began to write this paragraph, a movie that was long in my memory bank yet overlooked came right to me, with that movie being “Mayor Cupcake”, due to me feeling that another Deutch Sisters (Zoey and Madeline) collaboration has the potential to outrank an overall guaranteed Flickuum movie (Material Girls) that co-stars The Duff (Haylie and Hilary) Sisters. Yes, expectations have already been placed on the 2011 movie, and it could claim one of the three current vacated overall guaranteed Flickuum spots, depending on when it will get assessed.
Well everyone, this is the final time that I’ll rescind an overall guaranteed Flickuum spot, as there are too many glaring issues with “It Ends With Us”, with one of them being that Blake Lively was 100% horribly miscast as Lily Bloom, to the point that there is pretty much nothing else in that movie to offset it. Plus, I (in good conscience) cannot have something featuring Justin Baldoni ranked one spot underneath a movie (Deadpool & Wolverine) that features the allegedly mean-spirited Nicepool bit, as the latter was expected to outrank the former in the rankings. So, because that entire Sony operation went to complete shit and with more revelations about it still coming out of the woodwork, it has of course been permanently banned from The Project, which has also the aftermath of 1] It becoming the new number one on the One Hun-Dread page, 2] Attack Of The Killer Tomatoes! getting a re-assessment, and 3] The special circumstance of the Blake Lively-led movie leap-frogging “Hustle And Heat” as the next vacated Flickuum spot to get filled. Oh yeah, and her, along with Ryan Reynolds, will begin to get the basement treatment of 3,400 movies defeating the aforementioned “Deadpool & Wolverine” in the rankings.
And finally, I can’t have a paragraph about Lajon Witherspoon before a paragraph about Fake Liarsly in this entry, as my favorite recording artist is just way too cool to be written about before her. So, with that being said, I found out early this morning that he recently appeared in his second career movie, entitled “Devour”, which is a heavy metal-themed horror comedy. And of course, with that being said, I saw the trailer of it shortly after learning that and wow, it looks epic level bonkers, to the point that I’ll order the Blu-ray of it during either late-November or early-December, especially since I doubt that I’ll be able to rent it digitally. Oh yeah, and you know I’ll be looking for the Michael Jordan of metal vocals in that movie whenever I do assess it.
Well, the onslaught (no pun intended) of Art Infliction content continues, and that’s both a blessing a blessing and a curse, as the former continues to help build viewership for this website, while the latter keeps mentally draining me from wanting to clear the assessment/re-assessment roster. But despite that latter, I know that an assessment/re-assessment marathon is about to be afoot, and that will give me a whole bunch of answers about seeing which other movies have what it takes to make The Project, as well as give me a better idea of how to approach scheduling the last 100 evaluations of 2026.
