Flickasbord, Volume 227

**Note: The following content has both controversial wording and a joking dig at one of the most famous recording artists on the planet. Discretion is advised

Given my very intense commitment to meeting this month’s Flickuum quota, blog entries and assessments/re-assessments have been less frequent. However, at the same time, that quota is now only three evaluations away from being met, thus this 227th Flickasbord entry.

Let’s begin.

First up, I’m executing my Flickuum pardon powers one more time, as A] A scene in “Brighton Rock” has to be watched again, so that I can see if it’s as comically bad as it was during its July 2021 assessment, B] Evaluating “Jobs” yesterday morning made/makes me want to see Amanda Crew in a movie again, and C] The Boondock Saints is just way too bonkers to never watch again. So, with all of that being said, those two movies (Brighton Rock, The Boondock Saints) and the 2020 movie “Most Wanted” have all joined the already over-crowded assessment/re-assessment roster. Now let’s see if they can each make the most of their second chances like “The Flash” did last week.

Next up, I’m simply tired of re-assessing “Stand Up Guys”, as that movie has way too much cringe to overcome, in an order for it to become a Flickuum movie, therefore it has been converted to a “post-La Mujer De Mi Hermano” competitor in Tier 13. But that won’t reduce the pre-Final 95 overage, as “Dinotopia: The Quest For The Ruby Sunstone” has a lot going for it, to the point that it could make itself a fringe Flickuum movie, therefore it has replaced the Al Pacino-Christopher Walken movie in the group of movies color-coded as blue (final chance re-assessments) in that tier. Now let’s see if this Land Before Time-ish movie can join the group that was first started by “Wildcats” and last extended by “Winter’s Tale”.

And finally, 2023 and newer movies make their way into the Art Infliction Content Universe once again, as a lucky seven of them have jumped out at me and kept living rent-free in my head. And as to what those lucky seven are, well you can find out via the chart below:

MovieWhy it’s been added to the roster
NormalThis movie has “Nobody” vibes, simply because it also stars Bob Odenkirk.
Is God IsI kept scrolling past this title in the trailers section of iTunes, only to see the trailer eight days ago when I went to go see “Undertone” theatrically, and it has the vibe of a movie that I’d go see in the same theater that I saw “The Blackening” in, and would do as such on a Wednesday. This coming May 20 sounds perfect for that.
Dune: Part 3The first and second installments are overall guaranteed Flickuum movies, and this one will close out the franchise, thus I have to see it.
TowThis movie is a potential live-action Flickuum movie for Demi Lovato, whom is way more appealing than Payola Grift…err I mean Taylor Swift.
The GentlemanThis movie could put Natti Natasha in Flickuum lore.
SupergirlI like Sasha Calle’s portrayal of Kara Zor-El in “The Flash”, thus I wish she could have reprised that role. But I also really enjoyed last year’s “Superman” movie, thus this movie rides that wave of momentum onto the roster.
Operation Taco Gary’sThis movie has the look of yet another bonkers fun one.

Well, a bit of fluctuation has occurred on the assessment/re-assessment roster, as 10 of these 11 blogged about movies add to the overage, while that 11th movie (Dinotopia: The Quest For The Ruby Sunstone) takes the place of “Stand Up Guys” in the group of final chance re-assessments. And while the roster is in pre-Final 95 cap hell right now, some cap relief has been executed, as “Janet Planet” has been kicked down to Tier 12, while “My Giant” has been allocated to the group of “post-La Mujer De Mi Hermano” competitors. Of course, way more purging still needs to happen, but it’s a small step of progress in trying to identify which movies will ultimately make The Project after “I Wish You All The Best” and before the aforementioned “La Mujer De Mi Hermano, and after that aforementioned movie and before “Dream Scenario”.

Until the next time.
