Flickasbord, Volume 209

Given that today’s Nog Report needs variance, I decided that today is the perfect day for Volume 209. And not only is today the perfect day for that, because in addition, I was able to come up with a minimum of three items for this entry.

Let’s begin.

First up, in between my attempt at finding Calypso Triple Melon lemonade and picking up a couple of items from a Target that’s near a movie theater that I go to six days ago, I went to an FYE, in search of Tier 3 (The Buy List) movies to add to the evaluation pool a.k.a. Tier 2. However, the sections there were somewhat picked over, thus I couldn’t find likely evaluation options in “Captain America: The World’s First Avenger” and “True Crime”. Still, I didn’t leave empty-handed, as I found the Taylor Schilling movie “The Prodigy” on Blu-ray Disc and decided to take a flier on it. Of course, I don’t know when I’ll assess it since I’m in the midst of completing the 14th increment for 100 Flickuum evaluations, but it won’t fall under the category of impromptu assessments, therefore it has been added to the assessment/re-assessment roster. Stay tuned.

Next up, Netflix-released movies always seem to get a lot of buzz, whether it’s “Frankenstein” or “The Electric State”, two movies that I still have yet to assess. And now you can add “Train Dreams” to that category, as it has been hailed as a must-see movie, to the point that it has popped up in both YouTube search results and trending article sections of web browsers. And not only has it garnered that type of buzz, because in addition, it’s getting praise for being adapted from an acclaimed novella. And given that I somewhat recently evaluated a movie that was based on a book in “The Call Of The Wild”, I totally want to assess the Joel Edgerton-led movie.

And finally, Jessie Buckley has had an interesting 2025 for The Project, as 1] I needed two re-assessments in under 24 hours to determine “Wicked Little Letters” as Flickuum-worthy, 2] She appeared in Dolittle a.k.a. evaluation 1,320, and 3] The A24 movie “Men” is currently one of four movies slated for the One Hun-Dread page. And now you can add period-piece movie with great aesthetics to her Flickuum 2025, as the upcoming movie “Hamnet” is making a case for being added to the 2025 theatrical tour. Of course, I don’t know when I’ll be assessing her newest movie, as the showings for it will be competing with “Five Nights At Freddy’s 2” for time on my schedule next month, so stay tuned.

Well, other than “The Lost City”, assessments/re-assessments have taken a back seat to evaluations, but progress on the evaluation front is what I want right now, especially since making 1,400 six days from now is the goal. And while I’ll need one more strong push from tonight through Wednesday afternoon, I like where I’m at, considering that multiple commitments to other Art Infliction assignments and multiple attempts on the close-out of “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape” really consumed prime Flickuum time. But like I said, I like where I’m at and maybe the three latest roster additions, along with a lucky seven of pardons/exemptions (Violet, Susie Q, Jamesy Boy, After The Ball, Man Of Tai Chi, Desperate Measures, Def Jam’s How To Be A Player), will join the group that was first started by “Wildcats” and last extended by “Mowgli: Legend Of The Jungle”.

Until the next time.
