Flickasbord, Volume 208

**Note: The following content has controversial wording. Discretion is advised

Following the completion of the latest Art Infliction update, I went on an assessment/re-assessment heater, as I amassed the 2022 version of “Father Of The Bride”, “Dope” and a trio of Natalie Martinez movies for The Project, thus my success rate for assessments/re-assessments being over 50% this week. And while assessments/re-assessments have taken/will continue taking a backseat to evaluations until tomorrow afternoon, I have no doubt that “El Dorado: City Of Gold” will have some movies follow it into Tier 5 next week.

Now let’s delve into the content of this entry.

First up, I briefly noticed an ad for a Benedict Cumberbatch movie on YouTube sometime before the day of my theatrical assessment for “Kiss Of The Spider Woman”, followed by assuming that that movie was “Dust Bunny”, which then caused me to mix him up with Mads Mikkelsen. But thanks to some recent Fandango surfing, I noticed the Cumberbatch movie in the “Coming Soon” section, with the title for it being “The Thing With Feathers”. Of course, I don’t know if I will be able to squeeze it into my 2025 theatrical tour, but since I now remember it, I will definitely see it when it comes to streaming, as I liked what I saw in the trailer.

Speaking of heaters, Ashley Judd was on one of her own, as she appeared in four legal thrillers from 1997 through 2002, so she struck that particular iron, while it was hot. And you might be asking what does that have to do with this entry, right? Well, I’ve seen three of those movies in the 989th enshrined Flickuum movie “Kiss The Girls”, the evaluation-pending “High Crimes” and the tentatively guaranteed “Along Came A Spider”. And of course, with all of that being said, that just leaves “Double Jeopardy” as the only such movie that I haven’t seen, so might as well close that circle, by assessing the 1999 movie.

A ninth hate-watch of “Green Lantern” will be in my future, as eight more movies have been pardoned. And as to what those eight movies are, well they are A] A trio of Deutch Sisters (Zoey and Madeline) movies in “50 To 1”, “Something From Tiffany’s” and “Windsor” since I oddly associate all three with one another, B] The Female Brain, because if “Ode To Joy” can be re-assessed then the Whitney Cummings movie should be re-assessed as well, C] Keep Watching, simply because it’d be cool for Natalie Martinez’s amount of Flickuum movies to match her birthday (July) number of 12, D] Call Of The Wild, so that I can see how the 1993 version (featuring Mia Sara) compares to the 2020 version that stars Harrison Ford, E] The Magic Of Belle Isle, because that title alone sounds awesome and F] The Baytown Outlaws, simply because it’s another option for a 12th Natalie Martinez Project movie.  And that will be all for this paragraph, folks, so no more fucking pardons after today.

In another Deutch item, I noticed that Zoey Deutch amassed another movie in “Nouvelle Vague”, which has a very interesting aesthetic about it. So, given that and the fact that I’ll pretty much watch anything that she’s in, I’ve added it to the roster.

And finally, I ended Volume 207 with “A History Of Violence” and I’ll end this Volume with that movie as well. However, the near-ending this time around is about my decision to add that movie to the roster since I planted the seed of it in my mind three days ago. And yes, I’ll assess it after “3000 Miles To Graceland”, because I vowed to assess the latter before the former and that’s not changing at all.

Well, given how rapidly that evaluations have been completed from the wee hours of yesterday to the wee hours of today, along with the relentless drive to be at 1,383 before Wednesday night, there is no doubt in my mind that the relentlessly-growing assessment/re-assessment roster will be tamed some over the final eight days of this month. And while I have no exact quota of how many assessments/re-assessments will be completed before the calendar turns to December 1, I am totally confident about continued progress on both fronts.

Until the next time.
