Today is a big day for the current Art Infliction era, as it’s Day 2,700, so I had to come up with something additional. And while none of the “non-Wedding Wars” movies are game-changers like “In The Heights”, they each have something that can potentially get them into the group that was first started by “Wildcats” and last extended by “The Way Back”.
Let’s begin.
First up, let’s just get “Wedding Wars” right out of the way, as John Stamos seems totally miscast in the particular role that he was cast for in that movie, therefore it has been added to the Movies That Mega Tat Refuses To See page. And no, it won’t get an eventual pardon like both “Call Me By Your Name” and “Prick Up Your Ears” did. Out of sight, out of mind.
Next up, I found “School Dance” to be one of the most dreadful movie-assessing experiences in both my life and career, although it’s not the mind-draining experience that “Stuart Little” was six days ago. Anyways, the former of the two movies won’t be pardoned, but it did have a bright spot, in the presence of Kristinia DeBarge, therefore I searched her IMDB page to see if I could find another movie of hers to assess/re-assess for The Project. And luckily, I did, with that movie being “Christmas In Compton”. Plus, given that that movie somewhat reminds me of a PG-13 version of “Friday After Next”, I have to see it to re-live the nostalgia of watching certain California-based movies that I like.
It looks like a fourth hate-watch of “Green Lantern” will be in my future, as I found another movie worthy of a pardon from the Movie-Ocrity/Dishonorable Mention page. And as to what that movie is, well it’s “Four Christmases”, because if a movie with a “cougar” aspect in “8 Mile” can be re-assessed, then the second of the two Vince Vaughn Christmas movies (Fred Claus being the other) should get that same status.
Warnes Bros. 2D-animated movies have been coming out of the woodwork more and more since late-March 2024, as every Shemar Moore “Cyborg” movie and “Wonder Woman: Bloodlines” have seven of the 2,532 overall guaranteed Flickuum spots, and eight if you count the assessment of “Superman: Man Of Tomorrow” being assessed all the way back in late-January 2021. Oh yes, and there’s also “Batman Vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”, so make it nine, as that movie was assessed nearly seven months ago. And while the only fully guaranteed movie (Superman: Man Of Tomorrow a.k.a. evaluation 782) of those nine was what paved for the way for those other eight movies, the movie that made me realize that such movies were possible was “Batman: The Killing Joke”, which I overlooked for some unknown reason. But because that movie paved the way for those nine, along with the pending assessments of “Justice League: Gods And Monsters” and “Aztec Batman: Clash Of Empires”, it’s going to finally get its due, by being added to the roster. I think a Saturday afternoon assessment of that 2016 movie is in my foreseeable future.
And finally, four more movies that fall under the “2023 and newer” category, join the assessment/re-assessment roster as well, due to each of them jumping out at me during my latest iTunes surf session. And as to what those four movies are, well they are 1] Stone Cold Fox, as there is no such thing as too much Mishel Prada in The Project, 2] Under The Stars, as that will be my introduction to the career of Eva De Dominici, 3] All That We Love, because I want to see Margaret Cho as the lead in a character-driven drama and 4] Scream 7, because Anna Camp will help ease my outrage of Melissa Barrera not returning as Samantha Carpenter.
Well, the latest rut of finding more overall guaranteed Flickuum movies continues, but both the first installment of Antonio Banderas’ coolness in playing Zorro, and a part of Jennifer Lopez’s resurgent Flickuum stock via “El Cantante” could turn that 2,532 into 2,534. Plus, if time permits between now and midnight tomorrow, then I could squeeze in “Piglet’s Big Movie”, as today is feeling like a 2D-Disney animated movie kind of day.
