Flickasbord, Volume 131

**Note: The following content has adult wording. Discretion is advised

68 is the amount of movies that battle March Madness tournament style at any given time to become a fully guaranteed Flickuum movie, a feat that was last pulled off by “M3GAN”. And interestingly enough, 68 is also the number of pardons that I have decided to hand out to other movies that are on the Movie-Ocrity/Dishonorable Mention page. However, it remains to be seen if any of these pardoned 68 movies will get a chance join a group that was both started by “The Wedding Singer” and extended by the aforementioned “M3GAN”.

Let’s begin.

Okay, so since there are 68 pardons, the total will be divided among four charts. Here’s chart number one:

MovieWhy it has been pardoned
Youth In RevoltThere could be fatigue with Michael Cera appearing in R-Rated comedies, but this movie has the potential to be a late-night or wee hours evaluation.
BaltoBalto is as significant of a real-life sled dog as “Togo”, so the former deserves to be a part of Flickuum lore as well.
Passion PlayIt came up in the boomtown era of being assessed during the assessments/re-assessments of “Avengers: Infinity War”, “Good Burger”, “Deadpool 2”, “The Cobbler”, “Elsewhere”, “Congo”, “Mission: Impossible III”, “Chasing 3000”, “The DUFF”, “The Stray”, “Dirty Grandpa” and “Lady Bird”. So, given that and the presence of Megan Fox, this movie has a legitimate chance to join all of those movies in Flickuum lore.
Super FlyThis movie could be neck-and-neck with “The Mack” in The Project.
The WrestlerThis movie led to a resurgence in Mickey Rourke’s career.
Firehouse DogThe third time can be the charm for a movie trying to make The Project, which is exactly what happened with both “A Most Violent Year” and “The Florida Project”.
The Last Witch HunterThis movie could a good running mate for “Lucky Day”.
After PartyThis movie could a good running mate for “Chevalier”.
Sucker PunchThis movie has a vibe similar to “The Matrix” franchise and features three game-changing talents in Vanessa Hudgens, Jamie Chung and Oscar Isaac.
I OriginsIts fate is tied to “The East”.
The EastIts fate is tied to the aforementioned “I Origins”.
Joe SomebodyIt could beat “Galaxy Quest” in the rankings.
Shoplifters Of The WorldIt could be neck-and-neck with “England Is Mine”.
SuperThe animal adoption scene could save this movie.
CBGB“Bandslam” is why this movie is here.
The Other GuysThe gross-out humor could doom this movie, but Eva Mendes’ Sony Pictures magic via both “Once Upon A Time In Mexico” and “Hitch” could offset that.
Safe HouseThis movie could be a second option in being evaluated after a viewing of “UglyDolls”.

Okay, so above is the first quarter. Now let’s get to the halfway point via chart number two:

MovieWhy it has been pardoned
Regarding HenryIf “Frantic” can be re-assessed, then this movie should be as well.
The Fighting TemptationsDespite Beyonce being very cringy as an actress in live-action movies, the way that things come together in this movie could punch its ticket into The Project.
The Book Of EliIf “Safe House” can be re-assessed, then this other Denzel Washington movie should be as well.
The Pebble And The PenguinThis movie could fall under the category of perfect one to watch after Patrick Mahomes ruins another Super Bowl Sunday.
8 MileThis movie could be a perfect running mate for the 2020 version of “The Invisible Man”.
World War ZThis movie could be a perfect running mate for “Morning Glory”.
Stop And GoThis movie could be perfect to evaluate after a viewing of “Wedding Plans”, which is the series finale of Saved By The Bell: The College Years.
Conan The BarbarianDespite the presence of Rose McGowan, this movie has Rachel Nichols, along with putting Jason Momoa on the map. Plus, it got assessed before the assessments of “The Smurfs”, “The Help” and “A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas”, which were all enshrined during December 2020.
Daydream NationIt could work well in tandem with the aforementioned “Stop And Go”. Plus, it could be Rachel Blanchard’s ticket to Flickuum lore.
The SpongeBob SquarePants MovieThis movie is to its series what “Saved By The Bell: Hawaiian Style” is to the Bayside era, and what “Saved By The Bell: Wedding In Las Vegas” is to both that era and the Cal U era.
The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out Of WaterIf this movie’s predecessor can be re-assessed, then it should be re-assessed as well.
AnnihilationNatalie Portman is the star, but this is getting re-assessed, so that I can find out how substantial of a role that Benedict Wong plays. Plus, it could be a good complimentary movie to “Husband For Hire”.
The Baytown OutlawsThis movie was in the weird space of being assessed not too long after “The Layover”. But a different re-assessment placement could give it a better shot at making The Project.
Death At A FuneralThis movie was far from enjoyable during its attempted evaluation in October 2010. But the element of time gone by could change its fortune for the better.
OblivionMorgan Freeman plays a really cool character in this movie. Plus, there’s no such thing as too much Andrea Riseborough in The Project.
Coach CarterDuring what was the second attempt (the year 2007) at concluding The Project, this movie inherited the plug-and-play status in a little too rushed of a way. Now it can be treated as a depth piece instead of a quick fix.
Funny PeopleThis movie could potentially upset “Knocked Up” in The Project.

Okay, now we’re halfway through this particular field of 68 and it’s shaping up to be an intriguing one thus far. Now let’s see if there is more potential intrigue via chart number three:

MovieWhy it has been pardoned
The BabymakersThere is no such thing as too much Olivia Munn in The Project. Plus, it could be perfect in an evaluation line-up with “The Bounce Back”.
The Wild LifeMovies with Saturday morning cartoon vibes usually don’t have a shot at making The Project. But given that this movie was assessed after “The Babymakers”, something that tells me that it deserves another chance.
Hocus Pocus 2This movie got put in the bad spot of being assessed after the evaluation of “Ambulance”, so maybe a re-assessment could help its cause.
L For LeisureIt’s Melissa Barrera’s very first movie. However, her role is very minuscule and the aesthetic of this movie looks very cheap.
The WhaleI was against this movie until I saw that Brendan Fraser appeared in “Killers Of The Flower” afterwards.
Everything Everywhere All At OnceThis movie has a shared history with “In The Heights”, as both movies were assessed during March 2023, and were assessed as movies to fill the spot that was supposed to go to “Level Up: The Movie”.
GreyhoundThis movie was assessed in the same block as the aforementioned “Hocus Pocus 2”, “Cyrano”, “Finch” and “Luck”. Association with the former of the four is why it will be re-assessed.
FinchThere’s an aspect of this movie that provided a template for “Robot Dreams”. Plus, see one spot above.
LuckSee two spots above.
NopeThis movie could be perfect as the front-end of an evaluation doubleheader, especially if the back-end is an Anna Camp movie.
As You Like ItThere has been a slight uptick for Bryce Dallas Howard, due to her amassing her seventh enshrined Flickuum movie via “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” two days ago.
I Saw The TV GlowI fell asleep during this movie, thus I need to see what I missed, especially since this one is another cog in the A24 machine.
Nowhere To RunThe romantic aspect between Jean-Claude Van Damme and Rosanna Arquette is is cringy, but the part in how the former’s character saves the horses gives this movie a fighting chance.
UsIf the aforementioned “Nope” can be re-assessed, then this movie should be as well.
Scott JoplinOther than “Sweet Dreams” and “I Saw The Light”, I’m pretty easygoing with music biopics, thus why this one is getting another chance.
The 13th WarriorThis movie could be neck-and-neck with “First Knight”.
EmperorBryce Dallas Howard isn’t the only one that benefited from the “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” effect, as James Cromwell also benefits via this movie.

Three quarters down, so we’re now at what my buddy Slick calls the homestretch, although this isn’t a tattoo session. Nonetheless, let’s see what the last ever 17 documented pardons are very chart number four:

MovieWhy it has been pardoned
Homer And EddieThis movie is an early role for Jim Belushi and much different, compared to what he’s typically known for.
The Adjustment BureauEmily Blunt as a ballet dancer is a smoke show.
Wild TargetThis movie was re-assessed too closely after both “All The World Is Sleeping” and “The Charnel House”.
Sand Dollar CoveAfter “Grown Ups 2” and “Cow Belles”, Aly Michalka will no longer have any more Flickuum evaluations. This movie could extend her Flickuum era, though.
MojaveAn A24 movie, and it has both Garrett Hedlund and Oscar Isaac? Re-assessment indeed!
Igby Goes DownThis movie gives me a perfect excuse to see Amanda Peet in smoke show form more than usual.
PaybackThe dog survives, so that’s more than enough of a reason to re-assess this movie.
The Adventures Of Ichabod And Mr. ToadThe 1940s do need a little bit more representation in The Project, thus why this one will get another chance.
Surfer, DudeKD Aubert’s Flickuum era is almost over, thus this movie could extend it.
5 Days Of WarGiven what’s gone on in places, such as Ukraine, this movie is emotionally difficult to watch. However, I’m going to re-assess it because of how significant that it is in the history of this world.
FractureI want to see how big of a role that Andre Benjamin plays in this movie.
The Lego MovieI’ve constantly compared this movie to the first SpongeBob SquarePants movie, thus why it’s getting re-assessed.
The Lego Ninjago MovieIf the movie above can be re-assessed, then this movie should be as well.
SadieSometimes an emotionally-draining movie with a “Precious” type vibe is needed for The Project, thus why this one has been pardoned.
Piglet’s Big MovieI love hand-drawn Disney animation, because that’s what truly drew me to movies in the first place. So, given that, this movie could be a love letter to my childhood nostalgia.
SurvivorIt’s rare that Dylan McDermott plays a protagonist, let alone one that doesn’t die in a movie. So, given both of those things, this possible downgrade from “The November Man” gets an unlikely pardon.
Harry And The HendersonsI was too hard on this movie when I assessed it back in May 2023. So, given that, time to give a second watch to Harry The Sasquatch.

Well, I’ve spoken on the 68 pardons and I will forever hold my piece, but there’s no doubt that the Sydney Sweeney blasphemy in “Anyone But You” popped into my head again. So, given that, yet another movie of hers will be added to the roster, in the form of “Vikes”, which was released between her two enshrined movies in “Angels In Stardust” and “Once Upon A Time…In Hollywood”.

Looking back at three of the last four times that I’ve watched “My Giant”, it’s no doubt a movie that is less and less enjoyable, especially since I watched movies of Jennifer Love Hewitt, Nadine Velazquez and Monica Barbaro prior to the 1998 movie during those three times (January 2000, October 2024, January 2025), respectively. However, I find Gheorge Muresan to be entertaining, thus I have added his third movie “Manodrome” to the roster. Now let’s see if the third time can be the charm for Big Gheorge.

Movies such as “The Blind Side”, “My Favorite Five” and “Halfway” are frustrating, in the sense that they all have squandered the talents of Quinton Aaron, whom is totally deserving of a Flickuum movie. So, given all of that, I have made it a mission to find a movie of his for The Project, and I think that I have found one, in the form “Fishbowl California”. Here’s to hoping that this fishbowl isn’t a toilet bowl movie.

Chronologically, the last movie that Willa Holland appeared in [before this decade began] was “Blood In The Water”, which had a very frustrating ending. And of course, with that being said, this made me wonder if she would ever appear in another movie again. And sure enough, she did via the 2023 movie “The Dirty South”, which is similar to “Hollow In The Land”, from the standpoint of it having a gritty slow-burn vibe. Now I can possibly wipe the letdown of the aforementioned “Blood In The Water” from my mind completely.

Okay, to quote Mark Cuban after the Dallas Mavericks won the Western Conference championship in 2011, we ain’t done yet, as 24 more Movie-Ocrity/Dishonorable movies have each made cases for being pardoned and for various reasons of course. So, with all of that being said, you can check our overtime chart below:

MovieWhy it has been pardoned
Lady MacbethThis movie benefits from the “One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest” effect, which has also been applied to “Trap” and possibly the 2021 version of “Nightmare Alley”. Plus, it could be a good complimentary movie to “Carmen”.
Drop ZoneEvaluating “Hard Target” two days ago really made me wonder if there is a huge disparity between the 1,188th evaluation and this movie or not, as both movies are Yancy Butler movies.
The OrderThe Drop Zone argument can also be made for this movie, except a Yancy Butler movie gets replaced by a Jean-Claude Van Damme movie.
The Blackcoat’s DaughterThis movie is textbook A24 and it could work well in tandem with “Girl, Interrupted”.
Bodies Bodies BodiesGiven what this movie is about, it could fall under the movie category of being stuck between a rock and a hard place, which could helps its chances of making The Project.
MidsommarAri Aster is too talented of a director to not have a movie of his in The Project. This one is a good fallback option if “Hereditary” fails its assessment.
Coriolanus This movie is five-strong in name recognition via Ralph Fiennes, Gerard Butler, Jessica Chastain, John Kani and Brian Cox.
The Glimmer ManThis movie can be a table-setter for any movie that features Anna Camp. Plus, it could be the only chance that Keenan Ivory Wayans has at being a part of Flickuum lore.
ParasiteIf “Everything Everywhere All At Once” can be re-assessed, then this movie should as well.
The Heart SpecialistThis movie has the potential to work well with either “Empire”, “The Hunchback Of Notre Dame” or the 1991 version of “Beauty And The Beast”. Plus, it could be Mya’s best chance at Flickuum lore.
Pirate RadioIt could work well in tandem with “The Pebble And The Penguin”.
Animal CrackersThis movie was assessed after the fifth “Scream” movie. And just like the 1,028th evaluation, this movie could benefit via a re-assessment.
The Big HitMark Wahlberg’s character calling a VHS copy of “Planet Of The Apes” lousy is priceless foreshadowing, as he ended up starring in the disastrous Tim Burton-directed remake three years after this movie came out.
When We First MetThis movie is “Groundhog Day” meets “Trojan War”. Plus, it has both Alexandra Daddario and Shelley Hennig.
RumbleThis movie got an unfair wrap via being assessed in the triangle of failure, known as “Absolute Power”, “Licorice Pizza” and “Blades Of Glory”.
U-TurnNearly two decades before Nadine Velazquez appeared in four overall guaranteed Flickuum movies that were released during a singular calendar year, Jennifer Lopez appeared in four movies during a singular calendar year. Now let’s see if the biggest name of all Latina actresses can have all four of her 1997 movies together in Flickuum lore.
Fast & FuriousIt’s lazily titled yet so is the first Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega “Scream” movie. And last I checked, lazy title-naming isn’t grounds for permanent denial in making The Project.
HidalgoThe titular horse deserves to be a part of Flickuum lore.
Mississippi GrindThe scene with the little kitten deserves to be a part of Flickuum lore.
An American PickleIf “The Visitor” can be re-assessed, then this movie should be as well.
Learning To DriveIf “Hope Springs” can be in The Project, then this movie deserves a third re-assessment.
Pride And Prejudice And ZombiesAn England-themed period piece movie starring Lily James and it has zombies? Sounds like a bonkers good time to me.
Black SwanIf “The Whale” can be re-assessed, then this movie should as well.
Emma.If the aforementioned “Pride And Prejudice And Zombies” can be re-assessed, then this movie should be as well.

Okay, now I’m really done speaking about pardoning Movie-Ocrity/Dishonorable Mention movies, thus I’m officially forever holding my piece. But of course, Sydney Sweeney’s blasphemy in “Anyone But You” made its way into my thoughts during the compiling of the fifth chart, thus another movie of hers will make the roster. And sure enough, I was able to find such a movie via the horror comedy “Dead Ant”.

Going from one “Angels In Stardust” cast member to another, I have always maintained that AJ Michalka deserves to have as many Flickuum movies as her older sister, Aly, the latter of whom could amass her seventh individual Flickuum movie via “Sand Dollar Cove”. So, because of that, the former gets another movie of hers added to the roster, in the form of “Dirty Lies”.

Evaluating “Deadpool 2” three days ago, I came away finding Zazie Beetz completely hot in that movie. As a matter of fact, her character “Domino” is in my top five of favorite characters in that movie, to the point that I’ve decided to add at least one of her other movies to the roster. Or to put it more accurately, I decided on two, with them being “Wolves” and “Seberg”, because it was hard to choose one over the other for this current cycle of addition to the roster.

A24 has been a dominant theme in this Flickasbord era, as I have amassed a double-digit amount of their movies for the roster. Look at what you’ve made me done, Sean Durkin. Anyways, jokes aside, watching a Top 10 A24 movies video [on YouTube] in between my evaluations of “Hard Target” and “Mending The Line” brought forth another potential powerhouse from that company. And as to what that potential powerhouse is, well it’s “Waves”, which I first heard about when I searched movies released in 2019, following my assessment of “A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood”. However, there were times that I forgot about that movie, whether it was me focusing on other aspects of The Project or other aspects of this current Art Infliction era. But luckily, occasionally forgetful no longer, as seeing a gorgeous actress in that YouTube video made it impossible for me to not add the 2019 movie to the roster.

And finally, I have nothing against the LGBTQ+ community, but I want a “post-Moonlight” Andre Holland movie to make The Project, because I just can’t see his last chronological Flickuum movie being that one. And sure enough, I think I might have found such a movie, in the form of the highly-touted “Exhibiting Forgiveness”. Now let’s see if the art-themed movie can get itself into The Flickuum-useum.

Well, my surplus in completely open “pre-Dream Scenario” Flickuum spots has dwindled from 226 to 124, thanks in large part to the 92 pardons that have been handed out. Yes, I have further added to my seemingly insurmountable list of assessments/re-assessments, but there are reasons why that any/all of these 102 overall roster additions can A] Follow “Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie” into the group of movies that have 30F designations in Tier 7, and B] Join a group that was both started by “Wildcats” and extended by “Safe Haven”. And over the next 713 days, I will get 102 answers, along with many more.

Until the next time.
