Flickasbord, Volume 124

**Note: This entry has adult wording in it. Discretion is advised

App-surfing, filmography-sifting and finding similar results via a certain actor and director collaboration. These are the things that are a part of the beginning of finding additional Flickuum movies before the New Year’s Day 2027 deadline.

Let’s begin.

First up, racing movies about a seemingly down-and-out horse have found their way into The Project, with such examples being “Emma’s Chance”, “Apple Of My Eye” and “A Sunday Horse”. And of course, with that being said, you can possibly add “A Champion Heart” to that category, as that movie has the same vibe that those three movies have. However, the operative word here is “possibly”, as the 2018 movie needs to pass the assessment/re-assessment protocol. Stay tuned.

Staying on the topic of farm animals, I noticed a Christmas movie in the Netflix app, entitled “Christmas On Mistletoe Farm”, and noticed it via a litter of piglets as that movie’s backdrop. Plus, given that “Babe” is the number one Flickuum movie, I decided that that movie is just too good to overlook, thus I have decided to add it to the assessment/re-assessment roster.

The 2007 movie “Norbit’ was an absolute train wreck and I have the review to prove it. But even in a movie as abysmal as that one, there is a silver lining or two, with that label being applicable to Laura Ortiz, who played the much more tolerable water slide attendant in that movie. Of course, I learned her name after the fact, so I eventually searched her IMDB filmography to see if she has any other movies that she’s way more recognizable in, compared to the enshrined movies “Horton Hears A Who!” and “Guardians Of The Galaxy”. And as how to that search went, well she has a substantial role in the fourth “Hatchet” movie and she’s in the anthology movie “Chillerama”, the latter of which has her in a specific segment. So, with both of those things being said, I have added the former and its three predecessors to the roster, along with the latter. Now let’s see if she can get true redemption after appearing in that abysmal 2007 movie.

When it comes to seeking out new movies to assess, I always encourage anyone that I know to give me input, as such input eventually led to my two favorite John Leguizamo movies (Empire, John Wick) making the cut. And of course, with that being said, my younger sister recommended a movie to me that she found to be somewhat crappy, as she knows that movies that I don’t expect to be good end up surprising me. And as to what she recommended to me, well it was the first Will Smith-Margot Robbie collaboration “Focus”, which I went back and forth about assessing or not, prior to that. But now the back-and-forth has been settled because I never turn down a gift opportunity of assessing a never-seen-before movie. Now let’s see if this “flier” movie can cause one less available Project spot.

For nearly 14 years, Jaume Collet-Serra has collaborated with Liam Neeson on four different movies, one of which is the enshrined “Run All Night”, while other one is the recently successful re-assessment of “Non-Stop”. Of course, I haven’t seen “The Commuter” nor “Unknown”, but I will soon, as that particular type of actor-director lightning has already struck twice.

Nearly two years ago when I went to see “M3GAN” theatrically, I noticed a different auditorium in that particular movie theater having a sign for a movie called “The Corsage”, which made me think of my favorite Saved By The Bell episode “The Prom”. Of course, I almost forgot about that movie nearly two years later, as I noticed it being available via Hulu on the night that I re-assessed “Non-Stop”. So, with that being said, I added it to my Hulu queue, as well as the roster, to ensure that it will never again get lost in the shuffle.

It’s been a little while since I last added a movie to Tier 9 on the Land Of Infusion page, especially since my focus has been on getting my tour dates for “The Lord Of The Rings: The War Of The Rohirrim”, “Sonic The Hedgehog 3”, “Mufusa: The Lion King”, “Nosferatu” and “A Complete Unknown”. But after watching a WatchMojo video about unneeded sequels, I discovered both a late-2026 release that could make the New Year’s Day 2027 deadline and an early favorite to lock down a final 99 spot in that video, thus two sequels that I want for both franchise continuity and fandom. And as to what those two movies are, well they are the third Dwayne Johnson-Kevin Hart “Jumanji” movie and the third “Minions” spin-off/Despicable Me prequel movie. I can’t wait to see those two movies.

And finally, eight is enough, as I mentally went through eight more Movie-Ocrity/Dishonorable Mention movies to see if they each have a case for The Project. And as it turns out, they each do, as you can find out which ones that they are and why they make a case via the chart below:

MovieIt’s case for The Project
Wild ThingsNeve Campbell, in tandem with Denise Richards, deserves a re-watch at least, because the two of them together are a smoke show.
DisconnectIt’s tethered together with the next movie in this chart. Plus, there’s no such thing as too much Paula Patton in The Project.
Broken CityIt’s tethered together with the movie that’s listed directly above it. Plus, Natalie Martinez is my favorite character of this movie, it has the true professional in Jeffrey Wright and my favorite Erick Sermon song “Music” plays in it.
Love & BasketballIf “The Wood” can be re-assessed, then this movie other Omar Epps-Sanaa Lathan movie should get the same exact treatment. Plus, it’s one of movies that hit the sweet spot of being assessed/re-assessed during the time that “The Bounce Back” was re-assessed.
PosseStephen J. Cannell was one of the brighter spots of the otherwise unremarkable “Half Past Dead”. So, with that being said, this movie could be the late actor’s best chance at Flickuum lore.
Starsky & HutchIf a fourth-wall break of a then-present day Selena Gomez explaining something about the 2008 financial crisis in a 2015 movie (The Big Short) can be in The Project, then Patton Oswald foreshadowing the year 1984 in a movie that takes place during the 1970s isn’t egregious as I had originally thought.
CHIPSI like it more than the aforementioned “Starsky & Hutch”, especially since Rosa Salazar is a part of the cast.
Empire RecordsI enjoyed this movie when I was 14, but found it to be meh when I was 35. But after thinking that it could outrank “Dazed And Confused”, as both movies are Rory Cochrane movies, I’m starting to think that 14-year-old me was wiser than 35-year-old me about the 1995 movie.

Well, 2,346 non-Dream Scenario spots are now accounted for and there are still a good amount of those spots up for grabs. Yes, I continue to have my work cut out for me, but I have a feeling that 30F designations will get handed out quicker than ever, due to the abundance of Flickuum-worthy movies that are accessible to me. So, with that being said, let’s see which accessible movies can prove themselves worthy of a group that was both started by “Wildcats” and extended by “Love At First Bark”.

Until the next time.
