Eight Movies For One Spot, Eighth Edition

One of my favorite speeches following a loss is Phoenix Suns head coach Monty Williams addressing his team, following their 109-103 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 4 of the 2021 NBA Finals. And for those of you who do not know what that speech entailed, well it entailed him telling his team a.k.a. the NBA team that I root for you that they had three games to win two, only for the Bucks to close that series out in six games.

Alright, so you might wondering what does that well-intended speech have to do with this entry, right?

Well, when dealing with a movie assessment/re-assessment schedule as time-consuming as the one that I’m currently dealing with from the standpoint of determining what movies will have 2,000 of the overall guaranteed Two ThouCentennial spots, it’s all about using specific formulas, such as having a lot of options to work with to achieve one goal, which in this case is having eight movies battle it out for the tentative guaranteed Two ThouCentennial spot that will be revoked from The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, hence the title of this entry and its subsequent editions.

In the fourth version of this entry, we will looking at five separate groups and the roles that they will play in determining in putting this 2,000-piece puzzle together, so get your snacks and drink ready, because there is going to be a lot to unpack here.

Let’s begin.

MovieWhy It Could PassWhy It Could Fail
Answer This! This movie could outrank both Soul Plane and Another Time as the best Arielle Kebbel movie in the Two ThouCentennial rankings. The perception of an abrupt ending.
Our HouseThis movie could make up for the fiascos of Back Roads and The Obituary Of Tunde Johnson, as all three movies are Nicola Peltz movies. This movie could give off nonsensical dynamics just like Unfriended did, along with possibly having an incomplete feel.
Starship Troopers 3: MarauderCasper Van Dien is back as Johnny Rico, thus somewhat giving this movie the familiarity of the first installment of this franchise.Jolene Blalock and Catherine Oxenberg bring eye candy appeal to the movie, but they are no Dina Meyer and Denise Richards.
Starship Troopers: InvasionAbout the only thing that’s going for it is that it’s Starship Troopers in name.Going the Stuart Little route of making an installment (fourth in this case) completely animated messes with the franchise consistency.
Starship Troopers: Traitor Of MarsDina Meyer is back, albeit voice form. This installment goes the same exact route (computer animation) as the movie that’s listed above it.
Magnum ForceThis movie and its gritty vibe of the 1970s can be a good change-up for the Project. The muddled difference between right and wrong in this movie might be a little too mentally fatiguing for the Project.
HidalgoA movie based on the greatest long-distance horse race ever run sounds great on paper. But the eye test is a completely different thing from what sounds good on paper. Especially when desert-based movies such as Flight Of The Phoenix ’04, Scenic Route and Collision have all failed their assessments/re-assessments.
The AlamoMovies rich in world history aspects tend to do well in making the Project.Word is that this movie is badly written, which could doom it even before its assessment begins.

Group Five: The Fall Back Options, the twelve movies that could be on stand by if any new or fairly new movie fails its assessment.

  1. King Solomon’s Mines
  2. Benji
  3. Fury
  4. The Great Debaters
  5. Eastern Promises
  6. Tron
  7. Tron: Legacy
  8. The Last Mimzy
  9. Footloose ’84
  10. Learning To Drive
  11. Mississippi Grind
  12. Leave No Trace

Well, there you have it. The stretch run of finally putting this 2,000-piece puzzle together before its biggest piece (Saved By The Bell: Wedding In Las Vegas) gets its full-on assessment done on October 7, 2022. Of course, this is version eight of this entry, as version nine will become public either a few days from now or early next month. Stay tuned.
