The Case For 6,000 Flickuum Movies

I was going to write this entry for tomorrow’s batch of site news updates. But after getting so deep into all of The Flickuum math, I decided that this needs to be addressed right now.

You see, after my latest batch of additions to the assessment/re-assessment roster, I added up every overall guaranteed Flickuum movie with A] The five Flickuum movies that are currently prohibited from graduating to Tier 5, B] The nine movies that are awaiting hard copy confirmation, C] The 15 movies that have locked down spots on the Eastern Bluebird 53 2.0 page, D] The tandem of “Dream Scenario” and “La Mujer De Mi Hermano” and E] The 2,581 movies that are up for assessment/re-assessment, which all adds up to 5,593. Oh, and there are also the combined 139 movies in both Tiers 12 and Tier 13, so make that 5,732.

Yes, I continue to keep overshooting my goal of 5,000 Flickuum movies maximum, thus making me wonder how I can get this thing down to that ultimate amount. The answer? Well, there’s no guarantee that I can, especially with the abundance of quality Flickuum depth and the ongoing vetting process of more movies that I’ll very likely add to the roster. Plus, there are also the impromptu assessments, such as “The Killer” last weekend and “Mid90s” nearly two months ago, and more movies could throw their hat into the ring that way.

Are there movies that won’t join the group that was first started by “The Wedding Singer” and last extended by “The Piano”? Yes, but likely not enough to get this damn thing dramatically under 5,000, thus I will extend The Flickuum total to 6,000, especially since I won’t be hard-pressed at all to find 268 more movies to compete for Flickuum spots. Oh and speaking of enough, that’s another J.Lo movie that I have to assess before I finally watch “Selena” for the first time in 15 years. Now it’s time to begin clearing a roster that is causing the closing credits song of “Lamb Chop’s Play-Along” to constantly play in my head.

Tune a week from today to the second blog entry of Steve’s Steak And Cheese Series.
