Steve’s Steak And Cheese Series

As far back as the second grade, Steve Kaycee has made steak and cheese sandwiches a regular thing, whether in an elementary school cafeteria or any restaurant franchise.

Of course, he’s not the world’s foremost expert about that particular sandwich, but like everything that he has written about thus far, he tries his best to make sure that his writing is totally credible.

Here on this page of alliteration, which is inspired by a TV show (Bob’s Burgers), due to itself being alliterative, Steve will take you on his many adventures of consuming steak and cheese sandwiches, with his first one occurring at a Hooters on September 15, 2026.

You can check out the entry below! 🙂

“Steve’s Steak And Cheese Series: Hooters”

For almost a year now, I’ve written food reviews about specific menu items, whether at Wendy’s, Freddy’s or Culver’s, yet never consistently focused on the same exact item in any of those prior reviews. However, this particular entry will be the beginning of that consistency, as I review Hooters’ Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich.

However, before I give my verdict, I want to share a short backstory about this particular entree, which is that earlier this year (February to be exact), I was contemplating reviewing it, only I didn’t know if I wanted it to be in just another Foodie Call entry or have it be a part of its own unique niche of food reviews. But of course, after becoming an avid fan of the show “Bob’s Burgers”, well now you know which direction that I chose to go in. Alright, now for my verdict of the entree in question via the next paragraph.

Of course, this is the third time since early-January 2023 (according to my recollection) that I’ve consumed this particular entree, yet I remember specific details about it this time around. And as to what those details were/are, well for starters, the Hooters kitchen staff was very generous in providing the sandwich with a lot of filling, to the point that quite a bit of it landed on my plate, only for my server to have the foresight of pointing me in the direction of requesting silverware for my meal. And I’m glad that she did, because I didn’t want my meal to go to waste. Plus, that’s no shade at all on the kitchen staff, because filling naturally falls out of sandwiches way more times than not, and I feel that I’ve always been a good sport about that in general.

Second, the sandwich strikes the perfect balance of the filling maintaining its natural moistness throughout, along with the flavor profile being totally faithful to my expectation of it and the bread not getting soggy at all. Yes, the loss of texture in food has always been my food kryptonite, so more props to the kitchen staff. And yes, I must confess that I’m a big baby about whenever a clump of cheese falls from my sandwich onto my plate, as was the case here with the provolone that I opted for. But being the person that I am about not wanting to waste food, I used my fork to eat that clump and amazingly didn’t have a bad reaction to it all. I guess the momentum of all the other fixings (meat, peppers, onions, mushrooms) helped with that particular experience. And going back to the cheese in this particular entree experience, I know that Philly Cheesesteaks aren’t the first thing that comes to mind about Italian food, as provolone is an Italian cheese, but it works perfectly in that particular sandwich, to the point that I’ll request that particular type of cheese for it more often.

And finally, the aftertaste of the sandwich is nostalgic for me, as that right there reminds me of the Philly Cheesesteak Pizza that Domino’s has. Honestly, it’s like the person, whom made the sandwich for me, has past experience working at Domino’s Pizza, although I’m most likely wrong about that. And if I’m wrong about that, well then that person is a true kitchen magician either way.

Yes, Steve’s Steak And Cheese Series is off to a great start, thanks to the outstanding people at the Hooters where I went to have lunch, prior to my theatrical outing for the new A24 movie “Onslaught”. And an extra thanks to my server for setting the expectation of this entry posting today.

Tune in next Saturday to my next Steak And Cheese adventure.
