This has been a groundhog week, as this is my third blog entry about additions to the assessment/re-assessment roster, and this pace is starting to resemble most of April before constant app-testing went into effect. And hopefully, this is my last entry for this week, because I have a lot of assessments/re-assessments to get to ASAP.
Let’s begin.
First up, a new/upcoming movie that I forgot to blog about yesterday kicks off this entry, with it being the Sylvester Stallone biopic “I Play Rocky”. As a matter of fact, I’ve overlooked it at least two other times this year, but that’s no longer the case, as I’ve been a Stallone fan since 1995, so you know I have to put it on the roster. Plus, I also need to figure out when to assess it theatrically this coming November.
Well, it didn’t take me long at all to fill the vacated overall guaranteed Flickuum spot of “It Ends With Us”, as investigating certain aspects of “I Saw The TV Glow” finally brought understanding to the aspects that were still confusing about the 2024 Sundance release. So, with that being said, a movie that reminds me of all those SNICK-watching Saturday nights will one day have a home in the group that was first started by “Wildcats” and last extended by “Sonic The Hedgehog 2”.
Five days ago, I granted leniency to a movie that was adapted from a Stephen King novel, with that movie being “The Long Walk”. But of course, this paragraph isn’t about the now surprisingly anticipated movie. Instead, it’s about a movie (also adapted from a Stephen King novel) that I assessed around the time (late-April 2023) that I assessed the currently pardoned “Doom”, with that movie being “Dreamcatcher”. You see, I like the aesthetic of movies based on his novels, i.e. “The Monkey”, thus I’m using my pardon powers one last time for the 2003 movie, because it’s starting to grow on me. But this is the last ever time that I’ll use these powers, because it’s time to begin the long process of elimination road.
Utilizing ok.ru has been key in some of my assessments/re-assessments, such as “Hustle And Heat” and “Frank And Cindy”. Plus, it will be for “Soulm8te” and “Manual De Principiantes Para Ser Presidente”. However, it doesn’t have the inaccessible Rhianne Barreto movie “Share” at all, thus making it the only roster movie that I’ll be unable to get to foreseeably at least. Still, being the relentless completionist that I am, I put out a Google alert for when it will be available via streaming again, thus I’ll probably be playing that waiting game until I am at least 50. LOL. Stay tuned.
And finally, since both “I Saw The TV Glow” and “Share” don’t at all qualify as roster additions to blog about in this entry, I’ve decided to make time for wasp, as in blogging about “Wasp Network”, simply because there is no such thing as too much Ana de Armas in The Project. Currently, the muy caliente Cubana has seven overall guaranteed Flickuum movies (including two enshrined) and given how many movies that she currently has up for assessment/re-assessment, she could be hitting double figures, like many other dynamic (something that Blake Lively isn’t) actresses have.
Well, not much of a dent has been put into the roster, as other Art Infliction related assignments are where my time has gone to these days. But knowing the semblance that I now want to go with this month, the completions will come in bunches and it’s a safe bet that quite a few movies will be joining “I Saw The TV Glow” in Tier 5 throughout this month.
