Well, my plan of writing the preview to 1,600 blog entry probably won’t happen, due to my intended movie (Sonic The Hedgehog 3) for 1,601 possibly not arriving in time for Wednesday night. So, instead, I’ll recap some cool recent Flickuum progress, along with mentioning three new additions to the assessment/re-assessment roster.
Let’s begin.
First up, it was inevitable that an upcoming movie would make this particular Flickasbord cut, as two days ago, I saw the trailer for the new Olivia Colman movie “Wicker”, and liked the period piece aesthetics that it had. Plus, another reason that it’s been added to the roster is the presence of Elizabeth Debicki, an actress whose height (6-3) just adds to her hotness, which I first noticed in “Widows” nearly five years ago.
Kind of staying in the subject of “Wicker”, seeing the trailer of it reminded me of a movie that I’ve been overlooking ever since I first heard it being announced back in late-2007. And as to what that movie was, well it was “Lars And The Real Girl”, the first movie in which I noticed Ryan Gosling being number one on the call sheet. And given the possibility that that movie has catapulted him into leading roles of bigger-name movies since late-2007, along with the quirky chill vibe that it gives off, it has finally been added to the roster and will be assessed tomorrow night.
Alright, so when it comes to these specific entries, I like to have a minimum of three non-evaluation related items, as two such items don’t translate to a robust entry. So, with that being said, I looked up Fernanda Urrejola’s filmography via the Apple Store to find something of hers, in addition to “Cry Macho” and “The Black Demon, which I sure enough did. And as to what I found, well it was “Bring Me The Head Of The Machine Gun Woman”, which has her in the leading role and looks like one of those bonkers fun movies. So, given those two things, along with my opinion of her being a total smoke show, it has been added to the roster.
And finally, despite some very challenging close-outs, both symmetrical and common thread Flickuum history has been made, as 1] Baby Driver cast mates Eiza Gonzalez and Lily James had back-to-back evaluations, with them being “Spirit Untamed” for the former and “Little Woods” for the latter, 2] The 71st enshrined 2018 movie (An Evening With Beverly Luff Linn) features a person (Craig Robinson), whom was born in 1971, 3] The movie that was evaluated right after that 2018 movie was a movie that was released one calendar year (2019) later, with it being the Melissa Barrera-led movie “Two Times You”, and 4] Evaluation 1,591 is forever connected to the number 92, as the 1992 movie “Class Act” and all of its unique history (watched three nights in a row during late-June 2001, watched one night after I watched Money Train in early-August 2002, re-assessed before the assessment of “The Super Mario Bros. Movie in April 2023) are also now a part of Flickuum lore. Oh yes, and the two movies (Kingsman: The Secret Service, Crash) with the longest Flickuum wait times will finally join them in the rankings tomorrow morning, along with Camila Mendes being chosen as the latest member of The 95 Club (movies with hot actresses that are also the 95th movie of a Flickuum increment) via the movie “Coyote Lake”, which will be enshrined on Sunday morning.
Well, this just might be the most unique Flickasbord entry that I have written in the two-plus years of this series. But in my line of work, unique is just another form of normal, so don’t be surprised if I write another entry that’s just like this one. Oh yeah, and the three newest additions to the assessment/re-assessment roster are three movies that I’m very confident about joining the 1,591 that were evaluated for 20 years, six months and one day.
