My original plan of eventually getting to 1,600 completed Flickuum evaluations incurred a setback yesterday, as I had a lot of assessment/re-assessment roster addition work to do, to the point that I spent about 20 hours on and off with it. And while today will entail more of the same, I doubt that it will reach that same arduous level.
Let’s begin.
First up, man and man’s best friend survival movies make their way into the Flickasbord series yet again, as I somehow overlooked the Brad Pitt-led movie “Heart Of The Beast”. But thanks to watching a very recent Flaawsome Talk episode, I was able to re-remember that movie and now it could be added to my very crowded 2026 theatrical tour this fall, especially since I’ll be seeing “The Dog Stars” about three weeks from now.
Laia Costa is back in this series for a second straight entry, as I have decided to add more of her movies to the roster since A] There is no such thing as too much of her in The Project, and B] I’m adding certain movies of hers to the roster just like I did with certain Noomi Rapace movies via volume 231. And my oh my, she sure wasn’t shy appearing in such movies…four of them to be exact. And as to what those four are, well they are 1] Duck Butter, 2] Maine, 3] Only You and 4] Un Amor. Now let’s see if she can have multiple Project movies before assessments/re-assessments permanently end for movies 2022 and older.
By rule, I usually blog about roster additions individually and with detail for each. But given that I currently have 102 A24 movies pending assessment/re-assessment, I’ll instead acknowledge that amount without naming names, and add/re-add all but “I Saw The TV Glow” to the aforementioned roster, as I re-added that movie yesterday. Plus, since I’m at it, here is the last ever batch of pardons/exemptions, which include quite a few of those 102 A24 movies, as I don’t want to prolong Flickuum evaluations any longer.
Another movie that I forgot to blog about yesterday was “Violent Night 2”, which is a sequel that I wasn’t expecting yet won’t complain about, as the first installment proved itself to be a possible jump-starter for The Project. And given that more mayhem will come in the early-December theatrical release, I have a feeling that it will join its predecessor in the land of 5,000 flicks. Oh yes, and the addition of Daniela Melchior is an added bonus.
And finally, there’s another Lily Sullivan movie that I overlooked when I was putting together volume 231. And as to what that movie was, well it was “Forgive Us All”, which has that vibe of perfect dingy horror to watch after the viewing of a Saved By The Bell episode. So, because of that, it has been added to the roster.
Well, the roster has grown yet again, thus making this the task that keeps going on and on. But this was bound to continue to happen, as I don’t want my vetting process to leave any stone unturned. So, in the words of the late Ray Stevenson as The Punisher, this is just the beginning, but in a totally different way, compared to what happened to Jigsaw.
