When it comes to movies that I want to see theatrically, there are times that I can’t get any immediate accessibility to see such movies, whether it’s the notion of demographics in a certain region or the one-track mindset of film festivals. And of course, with the latter being said, the creators of the movie “Your Monster” are exploiting the hell out of that aspect, as the Melissa Barrera-led movie “Your Monster” doesn’t have anything beyond its 2024 Sundance Film Festival release date of January 18, which was three days ago. And given that I ranked this movie as my number 15 most anticipated one of 2024, I’m irritated by the nonexistent beyond.
But of course, adjustments are par for the course on any most anticipated list, as I had to do as such for the upcoming Boon Joon-ho movie “Mickey 17”, a movie that was filler for the blog entry “Five More Anticipated 2024 Movies” and doesn’t have a new official release date, following its removal from the 2024 release schedule. So, given that par for the course scenario, I might have to option my number 15 most anticipated movie of 2024 as a contestant for the 100 Stand page, a page which is the brutal competition of an unspecified amount of movies vying for the final 100 spots of The Flickuum Project. However, the operative word here is “might”, because the deadline for when movies can contend on that future page doesn’t officially start until January 1, 2025, thus Your Monster can possibly avoid the impending savagery of that page altogether.
Stay tuned.
