At minimum, 121 more movies need to pass assessment/re-assessment, so that the full allotment of movies can be available for allocation to the next four Tier 5 advancement protocols. At maximum, 191 more movies need to pass assessment/re-assessment, so that they can avoid the arduous selection process of the movies vying for the final 99 Flickuum spots. So, with all of that being said, let’s begin.
First up, the revision to the vow of no more pardons from the Movie-Ocrity/Dishonorable Mention page hasn’t gone into effect yet, due to A) Me clearing the cobwebs of the night-wee hours tripleheader of “Husband For Hire”, “The Education Of Little Tree” and “Scream VI”, and B) Me constantly guessing if “Children Of Men” over “Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings” was the right call or not. But all of that ended up being a blessing in disguise, as my non-action to the revision made me realize that I should give second chances to two of Marisa Abela’s other movies in “She Is Love” and “Rogue Agent” because I simply want to see her in movies again before the long waits of “Barbie” and “Back To Black” go into effect. So yes, with that entire sentence being said, those two movies will be pardoned for re-assessment, but this will be the last ever time for such a pardon, as the revision goes into effect after this entry posts.
The New Year’s Day 2026 deadline is going to put movies, such as “Zootopia 2”, the second “Super Mario Bros.” movie, “Toy Story 5”, more possible “Trolls” movies, a possible fifth “Bad Boys” movie and a possible “Abigail” sequel all in the arduous “Final 99” position, whether by them being 2026 (and beyond) releases or late-2025 releases that won’t get hard copy confirmation until after the deadline. But thanks to Universal, two movies (pending successful assessment) could beat the deadline, due to that studio being very quick to announce pre-order listings. And as to what those two movies are, well they are “Wicked: Part Two” and “Five Nights At Freddy’s 2”. And given the lofty pre-assessment expectations for the former’s predecessor and the latter’s predecessor passing its assessment, it’s very likely that these two upcoming Universal releases will beat the deadline.
Currently, 84 movies are expected to beat the deadline and that includes the trio of “Your Monster”, “Juror #2” and “A Simple Favor 2” in all likelihood. And of course, that still leaves a maximum of 107 spots to fill before the deadline, which bodes well for movies waiting in Tier 7 and movies that I’m sure will come to mind once this entry posts. So yes, there’s room for more before the deadline hits, such as “Flamin’ Hot”, which got assessed when “Husband For Hire” got hard copy confirmed. Stay tuned.
And finally, that 107 could be 103, as A) My connect via Etsy is working towards having “Sister” and “Summer Night” ready for me, B) “Moving McAllister” gets into the pre-Tier 5 selection pool once the aforementioned “Sister” has been accounted for and C) “Vicious Circle” joins The Project once at least one additional Idalis DeLeon movie passes assessment/re-assessment. And of course, with all of that being said, Point C might be the one with the quickest resolution, depending on how much time is needed for Point A.
Well, I don’t know when assessing/re-assessing will resume because I’m in the mindset of breaking up my next four Flickuum evaluations, with my plan being “District 9” and “Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2” early this week and “Witness” and “Carmen” early/mid next week. I guess it depends on when I schedule the first of those four evaluations.
Until the next time.
