I did say multiple times that there will be no more pardoning from the Movie-Ocrity/Dishonorable Mention page. And after today, there won’t be, as I’ve made the exception for “Blue Chips” because it could be neck-and-neck with both “Above The Rim” and “Heaven Is A Playground”. Now it’s just a matter of how it does in its re-assessment. Stay tuned.
I can only take so much of beloved pets being killed in movies, as not everything can be “John Wick”. So, with that being said, the Movies That Mega Tat Refuses To See page has gained a 19th movie, with it being the 2011 version of “Straw Dogs”. And as to why that movie has been added to that page, well someone’s beloved pet cat gets brutally killed and I can’t bring myself to watch that movie because of that.
A little over a year ago, I was close to having a Madelyn Deutch movie in The Project, as I was able to obtain the movie “Painted Horses” on DVD. But after realizing how insipid that it was, I booted that movie out of The Project, followed by hunting for a different movie of hers ever since. And of course, with that being said, this is attempt number three, as I’ve decided to add “Teenage Badass” to Tier 8 after being let down by both “50 To 1” and “Windsor”. Fingers crossed on the third time being the charm.
I’ve been on the fence about seeing “Evil Dead Rise” since I don’t like “Army Of Darkness”. But I noticed an actress of eye candy appeal in the trailer of the former of the two movies, with that actress being Lily Sullivan. So, with that being said, I looked through her filmography to look for a second movie of hers to assess, as “Jungle” failed its assessment. And sure enough, I found that second movie, in the form of “I Met A Girl”, which reminds of a cross between the successful “I Still Believe” and the highly-anticipated “Your Monster”. Fingers crossed on the second time being the charm.
And finally, some movies that were considered to be on the bubble in making The Flickuum Project have shown themselves to be good running mates with instantly successfully movies, with such a scenario being “Team America: World Police” being in The Project as a result of it being assessed after “The Blackening”. And now you can add “Big Time Adolescence” to that category, as it has the potential to be a good complimentary movie to “Bob Marley: One Love”. And that’s not the only thing that the 2019 movie has in its favor because in addition, I really like Jon Cryer’s performance in it, along with A) It giving Emily Arlook a substantial role and B) It featuring the dynamic Sydney Sweeney. Now it’s just a matter of sorting out the movies vying for spots in the 2,201 through 2,300 selection protocol.
Well, I’m 11 movies away from rounding out the 2,101 through 2,200 selection protocol and now it’s a matter of how far I can with assessments/re-assessments between now and the wee hours of Memorial Day, as “Air Force One” will be evaluated on the afternoon of that day, regardless. And that’s okay, because the two Marisa Abela movies that will be assessed in the next wave make it perfectly fine for me to not complete all my current accessible assessments/re-assessments, since it’s too soon to assess those two movies (Rogue Agent, She Is Love). So, given all of the previous sentence, the goal between now and Memorial Day afternoon is field 11 more movies for the 2,101 through 2,200 selection protocol, whether it’s 11 successful Tier 8 movies or nine successful Tier 8 movies, plus “Godzilla Minus One” and “Big Time Adolescence”.
Time to see what success comes after “Scoob!”.
